JB Pharma and The Association of Physicians of India recognized critical gaps in how MD students learn and assess their knowledge. Students lacked platforms for regular self-assessment and peer comparison across regions. There was no centralized resource for high-quality, curated medical content specifically for postgraduate students. Competitive elements that motivate learning were missing from medical education. The pharmaceutical industry’s engagement with young doctors typically begins after graduation, missing the opportunity to build relationships during their formative MD years. The solution needed to appeal to tech-savvy millennial and Gen Z medical students, foster healthy competition while maintaining supportive community, cover multiple medical specialties comprehensively, and provide both assessment and learning resources in one platform.

Upcoming Quiz Dashboard - Never Miss a Competition

The home screen prominently displays upcoming quiz schedules with countdown timers. Students see exactly when the next state-level or zone-level quiz begins. The clean, intuitive interface shows quiz difficulty levels, estimated time, and participant counts. Push notifications remind students 24 hours and 1 hour before quiz start times. This creates anticipation and ensures students don’t miss competitive opportunities.

The “No Upcoming Quiz Available” state when displayed is clean and informative, encouraging students to check back soon. The design maintains engagement even during off-times, suggesting they explore practice quizzes or learning resources instead.

State & Zone Level Competitive Quizzes

We developed a competitive quiz system where MD students compete against peers at state and zone levels. These aren’t simple multiple-choice tests - they’re timed competitions that create real pressure similar to actual exams. Students answer questions across cardiology, diabetology, neurology, gastroenterology, surgery, and other specialties.

Each quiz session includes real-time countdown timers showing remaining time, progress indicators showing questions completed, instant feedback on answers after submission, and detailed explanations for correct and incorrect answers. After completion, students see their scores, rankings compared to peers in their state and zone, time taken per question analytics, and subject-wise performance breakdown.

The practice quizzes have no time pressure, allowing students to learn at their own pace. They can attempt questions, review explanations, mark questions for later review, and track their progress over time. The “Start Mock Quiz” buttons provide instant access without registration hassles.

We curated a comprehensive library of medical presentations on evidence-based information and emerging trends. User Profile & Analytics

Each student has a profile showing their quiz attendance history (currently displayed as “0 Total Attended Quiz” for new users), performance trends over time, subject-wise strengths and weaknesses, ranking progression, and badges and achievements earned. The phone number display (+91 1234567890) ensures secure authentication and account recovery.

The “Share App” feature enables viral growth through student networks. The “Rate Us” option captures feedback for continuous improvement. “Term & Policies” and “About Us” sections build trust and transparency.

Clean Navigation & User Experience

The bottom navigation provides instant access to Home, Quiz, Resource, and Menu sections. Icons are clear and intuitive - even first-time users understand navigation immediately. The “IN ASSOCIATION WITH JB PHARMA” branding at the bottom reinforces the partnership and credibility.

The interface uses medical-themed colors and professional design that appeals to serious learners. The balance between vibrant elements (like yellow CTA buttons) and professional tones creates an engaging yet credible experience.

Technical Architecture

Building an educational platform for thousands of concurrent users during quiz competitions required robust, scalable architecture.

We chose Flutter for cross-platform development, ensuring identical experiences on iOS and Android. Native performance handles smooth quiz interactions, instant answer feedback, and seamless video playback. The single codebase reduced development time and ensured feature parity across platforms.

The backend uses NestJS, a scalable Node.js framework perfect for complex business logic like quiz scheduling, scoring algorithms, and user management.
